Instagram is a bottomless well of inspiration: the categories are multiple and most of the players are MVPs. If you find the endless array of beautiful feeds to be overwhelming, you can rest assured. In our aptly named Who to Follow on Instagram series, we do the work for you by identifying the top Instagram accounts in various categories.

In this installment, we put the spotlight on Australian fashion and interior design brands, narrowing down the best Instagram feeds to follow from the land down under. 🐨

We’ve all been sucked in by the Instagram vortex. But when it’s part of your job description, like yours truly, the daily hours spent scrolling through the photo-sharing app are completely justified. At least that’s what I like to tell myself 🤔.

For those of you whose livelihood does not depend on your Instagram savvy, it can be a real counter-productive wormhole. The struggle is indeed real, but it doesn’t have to be that way. I’m here to save you some precious time with our Who to Follow on Instagram series.

Scrolling through Insta can make for an explosion of the senses — Models? Check! Dreamy blooms? Check. Home decor? Check and check! Fashun? You got it! Heck, we even have athleisure, beauty, and babies. Today we’re taking a trip to the other side of the globe to explore the wares of warmer pastures. You see, Australians have a firm grasp on what makes a good social media marketing strategy and how to develop an Instagram brand. It was time we put the spotlight on them.

There’s something quite exotic about the faraway land of Oz. Its beautiful topography, ideal climate, and ridiculously good-looking denizens really seal the deal in making it seem like an enchanted place. After all, the country is home to two of the greatest animals that still roam our planet, the koala and the kangaroo.

Not to mention the unmistakable sartorial footprint of niche Australian apparel brands and boutique clothing. In fact, the ‘Gram appears to support our perceptions: the @Australia Instagram account is one of the most successful on the social platform, with no shortage of engagement from its Insta followers.

You’ll be hard-pressed to meet any Aussie that doesn’t have an intrinsically cool factor about them. Just take it from our list of best Australian influencers — they basically ooze with radness while supporting their local Aus fashion labels.

Their beauty paired with that typical casual nonchalance constitutes an appeal that transpires in both their fashion choices and lifestyle. Maybe it’s the Tall Poppy Syndrome, or maybe it’s just the fact that they have 16,000 miles of coastline.

For that reason, we couldn’t stop at Australian fashion brands, nope. To really get a sense of the world down under, we had to bring you accounts from the home design & living space as well. They were too good to keep to ourselves.
